Oasis are one of the world’s most famous bands, selling over 50 million albums, and tonight we’re screening their iconic Wembley Stadium concert from 2008 on STUDIO.
The band, whose hits include Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall formed in 1991 but split in 2009 because of a falling out between front men and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Unfortunately the band is yet to reunite, despite Liam stating ‘I’d prefer to still be in Oasis. That was my thing. Oasis was my life.’ Noel has said that it was ‘best that the band split and stayed that way’, adding that his ‘wild days ended with the band’s split’.
Both Liam and Noel have gone on to solo careers, each making albums that have reached the top ten in the UK. However it is safe to say, nothing can really beat the original sound that was Oasis who helped define British rock pop in the 90’s.
Oasis: Live at Wembley Stadium will air tonight on STUDIO from 9.30pm
