This series is an in-depth guide to some of the world’s most iconic artistic figures. Each episode of Discovering examines a fascinating subject that had a significant impact on a particular era and art form.

These include Luis Buñuel – the father of cinematic Surrealism, Salvador Dali – one of the 20th Century’s most important artists, and John Huston –  a pioneer of film noir, westerns, and war films including  The Maltese Falcon. Other episodes include Herge –  the creator of Tintin, Franco Zeffirelli – the legendary Italian film producer, and John Lennon – one of the world’s most influential musicians.
